Phone: 510-271-6799 Yoko Shimizu, MPA 1222 Preservation Park Way Yoko Shimizu joined the Samuels Center in October, 2016. She is responsible for administering and managing grants and contracts for various projects, handling account payable/receivable while working closely with the Samuels Center’s administrative team and project managers. Yoko is a recent graduate from Master’s in Public Administration at San Francisco State University where she gained knowledge of the complex interactions between public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Due to her strong interest in promoting health equity, she extensively researched, analyzed through different lenses, such as economy, leadership, and policy. While pursuing the graduate program, she worked at the international development nonprofit organization, the Asia Foundation as a senior level administrator. She was responsible for ensuring the steady flow, organization and impeccability of executive functions, coordination with partner organizations and tracking of projects, funding and budgets. Yoko is passionate about food, enjoys cooking and trying different cuisines, as well as hiking, dancing and being in the water. |
