Salud Tiene Sabor: Creating Healthy Environments for Latino Families
Local food environments influence whether children and families can have a healthy diet, especially in low-income Latino communities, like South Los Angeles. The Salud Tiene Sabor program provided access to healthy menu options and nutrition information at independent restaurants. Our team assessed the program’s impact on consumers’ purchase intentions, vendor practices and sales, replication by other venues, and the effect the California menu labeling law has on independent restaurants.
