1222 Preservation Park Way
Oakland, California 94612

Christine joined the Samuels Center in 2015 as an Associate and is involved in data collection, tool design, analysis, reporting, key informant interviews and many other activities to support various projects. Christine is currently working on the evaluation for First 5 LA’s Reducing Early Childhood Obesity Investments, the Partnerships to Improve Community Health grant in Merced, the HOPE Collaborative, and Hidden Villa intern program.

She began her academic career studying Molecular Biology and working in HIV vaccine development at Seattle BioMed before pursuing public health. A graduate of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, Christine focused on Epidemiology and Biostatistics while exploring her passion for nutrition and food systems. She has applied her dynamic abilities to many facets of public health from assisting Tuberculosis patients at San Francisco General Hospital to operating her own wholesome farmer’s market baking business. Prior to joining Samuels Center she was as an independent consultant with Barker Bi-Coastal Health Consultants. Her evaluation work with the Samuels Center melds her analytical mind with her desire to contribute to building healthier communities.

Christine loves living in vibrant downtown Oakland, running the redwood trails of the Central Coast, eating tahini covered veggies, savoring California bounty, and any opportunity to travel.
